Once upon a time... There once lived a moth and a butterfly. They hatched on the same plant as eggs, hatched on the same leaf as caterpillars, and hung from the same branch as cocoons. As they grew, the moth couldn't help but notice how vibrant and lovely the butterfly looked under the beam of the sun. It became curious as to how the butterfly grew into such a beauty. That same curiosity led to awe. The moth couldn't help but imitate the butterfly's every move—to the point that it forgot how to embrace its own nature. However, that awe sprouted into envy and self-doubt. At night, he couldn't help the urge to roam around. Then, other moths led him to realize his own beauty. "Beauty is in the eye of its beholder". "I am the way I am because I was born this way, and that is already beautiful alone."

Once upon a time, two friends named Alex and Poppy were playing on a sunny beach. They built massive sandcastles and splashed in the warm waves, laughing and having fun. Suddenly, the sky began to darken. The sun hid behind thick clouds, and a strange hush fell over the beach. The seagulls who were as loud as exploding fireworks, suddenly went quiet and flew away in the opposite direction of the ocean. "What’s happening?" asked Poppy, looking nervously at Alex. Just then, a gigantic wave crashed onto the shore. From the frothy water, a frightening figure emerged—a sea witch! She rose high above the waves, her long hair flowing like seaweed, and her eyes glimmered with mischief. The sea witch raised her sparkling triton and pointed it straight at the two friends. Before they could run, a magical pull tugged at them, and they were swept under the water! In the blink of an eye, Alex and Poppy found themselves in the sea witch’s shimmering underwater cave, surrounded by glittering treasures and colourful fish. The sea witch smiled wickedly. “You will help me find my lost crown, or you must stay here forever!” The sea witch became distracted by a family of lost turtles, trying to enter her underwater cave. Alex looked at Poppy, his heart racing. “We need to get out of here!” With a nod of agreement, they started to tip-toe behind the mountains of treasure in the sea witch’s cave. Suddenly, they spotted a golden starfish that shimmered brightly—it looked magical! “Let’s grab it!” shouted Poppy, reaching out. As they grasped the starfish together, a brilliant light filled the cave! With a bright flash, the starfish granted them one wish. The friends looked at each other, grinned, and shouted together, “Take us back home!” In an instant, they found themselves back on the sandy beach, the sun shining down once more. They cheered and hugged each other. “Where have you been?” Alex’s mum asked. “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you!” Alex laughed.

In a beautiful forest, a curious little fox named Foxy finds a golden key and embarks on an adventure with his new friend, Bunny. Once upon a time there was a beetle who loved to tell everyone how fast he could run. “I am the fastest insect in the park,” he would say. His slow and steady friend the snail, tired of hearing him brag, challenged him to a race. “Ha,” the beetle thought to himself, “there is no way a snail could ever win against me.” On the day of the race, all of the insects in the park gathered to watch. The centipede waved a checkered flag to start the race. The beetle zoomed past the starting line as fast as he could, while the snail carefully inched herself forward bit by bit. The beetle cried out “You will never win this race at that slow, slow pace.” Out of breath from running, the beetle eventually reached a small pond of water. He thought, “I have plenty of time. I just will go around the pond.” The beetle sped off on his way. Inch by inch the snail crawled along the path. As she reached the pond, she thought, “It would be much shorter if I could somehow float across the water.” Perhaps I could build a boat. The snail gathered up some leaves, twigs and vine. She fashioned a small boat that helped her glide smoothly across the water of the pond. When she got to the other side, she hopped off the boat and could see all of her friends waiting for her at the finish line. Little by little the snail crept along the path until she crossed the finish line at long last. All of her friends cheered. “Hooray for snail!” they cried. A moment later the beetle came running across the finish line. “I can’t believe you beat me!” he said. “You know,” the snail replied with a smile, “being the fastest isn’t always everything”. “Sometimes if you just slow down for a moment and think about your challenge, you can come up with great solutions.”

Harvey is a 16 year old boy who is working as a newspaper delivery boy for the newspaper company. He gets paid every Thursday. This is his first job and he gets paid by check. Mr. Smith is his boss. Thursday Harvey gets his first paycheck and gets very sad. He was supposed to make 100 dollars but the check is only 70 dollars. Mr. Smith sees that Harvey gets sad and explains to him what deductions are. He starts with federal taxes which is about 8 dollars from Harvey's paycheck. The government collects taxes from all citizens to built bridges and highways and fund the army. He then explains what the social security deduction is for and also, medicare, state and city taxes. At the end Harvey is glad that the government is thinking to save money for him so he gets it when he retires. Sparky is Harvey's dog. He is sad when Harvey is sad and then gets happy at the end when Harvey understands how taxes work.

The triangle, square and circle all had to be red, or all blue, otherwise, he wouldn’t fit them into his puzzle. All his toy cars had to be black. If they were blue or yellow, his dad had to paint them black, or he wouldn’t touch them. And every night, he parked them beside his bed in tidy rows. If you pushed one out of place inadvertently, he’d get out of bed and settle the lot again.
